From Constantinople to La Serenissima - Music of the Venetian and Ottoman Worlds
Join Music City Baroque and guest artists Reza Filsoofi, Joe Zeytoonian, and Myriam Eli for an evocative afternoon with musical highlights from Venice and the Ottoman empire.
This special concert accompanies the current exhibition and explores the rich cultural and commercial exchanges between Venice and the Ottoman Empire from a musical perspective. As goods flowed across the Mediterranean, so too did ideas, sounds, and styles. Discover how this interaction shaped the musical landscapes of both worlds. On the program will be pieces by Cantemir, Ali Ufki, Vivaldi, Uccelini, Monteverdi, and others.
